EWUCRT Hosts 142nd Research Seminar on Sustainable Machine Learning Operations
The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) hosted its 142nd research seminar on 17 September 2026, at the EWUCRT Seminar Room. The seminar, titled "A MAPE-K-Based Cost-Aware Retraining Framework for Sustainable Machine Learning Operations," was chaired by Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University (EWU).
Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, Executive Director of EWUCRT, opened the event with welcome remarks. The research was presented by a distinguished team of investigators, including: Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), EWU, Ms. Proma Chowdhury, Lecturer, Department of CSE, EWU, Dr. Md. Hasanul Ferdaus, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, EWU, Dr. Md. Tauhid Bin Iqbal, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, EWU, Mr. Ahmed Adnan, Lecturer, Department of CSE, EWU, Dr. Kazi Muheymin-Us-Sakib, Professor, Institute of Information Technology, University of Dhaka.
Dr. Pintu C. Shil, Professor, Department of Mathematics and Data Science, EWU, served as the Key Discussant, offering critical insights into the paper's proposed framework and its applications in modern MLOps. Following the presentation, attendees participated in an engaging interactive Q&A session.
The seminar concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by EWU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shams Rahman. The event drew a notable audience of academics and researchers, including EWU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, alongside faculty members, students, and EWUCRT officials.
